Ambientata nel reame di Knighton, una sorta di medioevo ambientato nel futuro, la storia segue cinque giovani cavalieri che combattono il malvagio Jestro, il suo collaboratore, il Libro dei Mostri e la loro armata di Mostri di Lava. A guidare gli eroici cavalieri c’è Clay Moorington e insieme a lui si trova l’avvenente Lance Richmond, l’hipster Aaron Fox, Macy Halbert, una principessa che preferirebbe essere un cavaliere, e Axl, il gigante. Insieme, sotto la guida del mago Merlok 2.0, si preparano a sconfiggere il nemico.
