Un giovane milionario, Bob Merrick, ricoverato in ospedale dopo un incidente, provoca indirettamente la morte di un medico e, successivamennte, la cecità della moglie Helen. Preso da rimorsi, cerca in ogni modo di farsi perdonare dalla vedova del dottore che, invece, lo evita. Bob intanto, in assoluta segretezza, aiuta Helen e le fornisce i mezzi per farsi curare. Bob riprende gli studi di medicina, diventa chirurgo, la opera e finisce per innamorarsene.
